Conspiracy: Luther Martin's Anti-Federalist Warnings about Centralization - I like the idea of people controlling their community governments, the community governments controlling the state governments and the state governments controlling the National governments. Another alternative in this digital age would be to have the national government set up a big debate stage that is televised to the entire nation with computer lines for the citizens to call in and participate in the debate. Then one issue at a time is debated in front of the nation where experts are called in to give their professional opinions on the issue. The ordinary citizens unique ideas would also be heard in the debate. If the ordinary citizen is simply repeating what is already being said then they do not need to be heard. At the end of the debate everyone votes on the issue, including the citizens. The votes are counted for each state and then the representatives elected by the people are required to actually represent how the people of their state voted on the issue and then carry on to do the paperwork necessary to implement the will of the people!
